The female subject wears a skirted bathing suit with white band at wrist and two white bands at hem. There are four vertical white bands going from the neck down the bodice of the bathing suit. She has dark hair pulled up in a bun/topknot in the back and rolled bangs. Her left arm is bent at the elbow and her hand is at waist level. To her right is the male subject with dark curly hair parted in the middle and a dark moustache. He is looking at her as they walk. He wears a dark, short-sleeved bathing suit with knee-length pants and a lighter-colored belt. In the near background is a beach with a building in the far right background. Handwritten on back: "Cape May".

Black and white full-length studio portrait of Capt. Thomas Crapo and wife Joanna Crapo. Subjects are a Caucasian male and female with bodies facing slightly left and heads turned front. Male subject has medium-colored hair parted on the left and full on the sides and a lighter-colored moustache and goatee. Subject wears a medium-colored unbuttoned jacket with one button and two buttonholes visible, darker buttoned vest under with two buttons visible and watch fob visible at top, trousers of same shade as jacket, white shirt and collar, dark bow tie, and shoes which turn up at the toes. Male subject is seated in a wooden chair with a padded right armrest with long fringe beneath it. To his right stands the female subject with medium-colored hair parted in the middle and with a hair braid wound around on the top of her head. Subject wears a fitted, medium-colored indoor coat with a ruffled skirt underneath. Indoor coat is buttoned down the front with 31 buttons visible. Indoor coat has decorative trim the full length of the front on either side of the buttons and then along the bottom hem of the garment. White cuffs protrude from bottoms of each sleeve and there is a white ruffled bib topped by a ruffled collar and a bow or pin at throat. Female subject stands with her left arm resting on the upper right of male subject and her right arm at her side. There is a ring on her proper left ring finger. To female subject's upper right is a small statue on a pedestal. Image is unevenly cut across bottom edge.
