From the Brookline Citizen March 29, 1956 Mr. Alfred P. Waterman identified this apparatus as an Amoskeag engine. Mr. Waterman's father made the purchase of the equipment for the Fire Department.
Arch gateway (with the date 1866), located at the entrance of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. It was removed in 1895 when Commonwealth Ave was extended into Newton.
