A portrait of Pontus Fürstenberg and his wife, Göthilda Fürstenberg, née Magnus. Pontus Fürstenberg was a patron of art, member of municipality, b. 1827 in Gothenberg, d. there 1902. From 1853-81 merchant in Gothenberg. Founded Fürstenberg Gallery there (1885), gathering the most magnificent collection of modern art in the possession of any private Swede at close of 19th century. Göthilda Fürstenberg, née Magnus, b. 1837, d. 1901.

Paul (Paulo) Troubetzkoy, Russian sculptor, b. 1866, at Intra in Italy. Troubetzkoy was a self taught artist, studied in Italy and lived chiefly in Moscow. He was one of the most prominent representatives of Impressionism in sculpture.

Queen Sophia

Sophia Wilhelmina Mariana Henrietta, Queen Dowager of Sweden, born at Biebrich, Nassau, 1836, d. in Stockholm 1913, married King Oscar II. She is seen seated three-quarter length and faces forwards. She wears a cap and leans on her right hand. Of this etching there are several small studies with unimportant alterations around the mouth. After an oil painting in H.R.H. Prince Eugen's gallery.
