Evans, by whose kind permission they are here included. Those of the exterior of The Red House, from photographs, and of the interior, on the spot, by the courtesy of its present owner, Mr. Charles Holme. The coloured plates have all been prepared by Messrs. W. Griggs and Sons, from original drawings (or the actual fabrics), kindly lent by Messrs. Morris and Co. and Mr. C. Fairfax Murray. The collotypes (namely, " Angels in Adoration " and the six Windows) are produced by Mr. James Hyatt ; the photogravure portrait is by the Swan Electric Engraving Co., from a negative by Messrs. Elliott and Fry. The reproductions in collotype from painted glass are from negatives specially taken by Messrs. Sarony and Co., Scarborough, Mr. Wheeler, Oxford, Mr. Lord, Cambridge, and Mr. James Hyatt. The end papers are reduced from a design made by the author for the Spitalfields Silk Association, by whose permission it is here reproduced. The Initials of the Dedication, the Preface, and Chapters One and Eight were designed by the author specially for this work.
