Some women whose costumes, robes, tartans, cloaks, bonnets, coëffs identify them with the poorer class, holding small candles in their hands, go towards the right, one after the other. Through an open door can be seen on the left side of the plate, a city landscape deluged with rain; in the upper right corner a casement is faintly visible; the left corner is full of etched spots.

The plate cut down; the whole work has been extended; the open door is replaced by a door with wire lattices, through which can be seen an altar surmounted with a cross.

Procession comes from outside and crosses the nave. The faithful kneel in the passage; at left, in the choir, groups of choir children and priests; one plays the organ, the other the cello. In the right foreground the two figures have been entirely taken out and four new ones, as well as a section of a tomb and a lantern added. The high panel and some of the grill has been removed, and small figures are introduced. At the left, in addition to the changes in the figures, and the addition of objects, the two boys near the cellist have been removed. The entire background has been reworked and further defined, again changing the figures in the procession. A close study of the print will reveal many other changes, including a change in the position of the cellist's head.

The procession comes from outside and crosses the nave. The faithful kneel in the passage; at left, in the choir, groups of choir children and priests; one plays the organ, the other the cello. The interior of the church has now been divded into three sections, each divded by a few steps. The first two parts in the foreground have been separated by iron grill work on each side of the stairs. In the right foreground a bell ringer and a kneeling figure have been added, while the earlier keeling figures have been blocked out by a partition. Note also the change made in the background in the relative sizes of the individuals in the procession, in the addition to a lagre framed picture on the wall at left, and the omission of certain pieces of statuary to the right.

The seated figures in the lower left corner have been considerably darkened by means of additional etched lines. Lines have also been drawn over the robes of these men and of the cellist. The face and hands of the bell ringer have been reworked and both figures considerably darkened. The whole area of the procession has been cleanly wiped in printing to give more lightthan in the third state. The altar boys before the grill on the left have been reworked. In fact the whole foreground has been restudied.
