Octagonal form of wood and metal wire; ogee arches springing from clustered columns on the eight corners; one side with hinged door. Ogee domed top with pierced imbrication and leafy finial. Bottom of sheet metal. Two perches and a swing in interior.
Hanging type. Cruciform shape. Pierced metal sides painted green and red. Cage attached to base by four wire loops. (B) Base is of inverted umbrella shape, on flaring circular foot. Eight groups of painted flowers on underside.
Birds about to take flight, on a lattice background, resemble seagulls (kamome) which are commonly found on the coastline of Japan. Silk threads are added to support the stencil structure.
