A Danish horse from the fourth set of "Equile Joannis Austriaci," the stud of Don Juan of Austria (died 1578). Horse galloping toward left. Signed bottom right: "Johan. Strada. inuent. / Phls Gallaeus excudit." At the bottom margin, a verse of two pairs of lines: "Saltu Danus atrox," etc.
A female Dominican saint kneels, facing half-left, arms extended in attitude of ecstasy. To the right of her figure appear two studies of arms. Above there are two studies of a kneeling man kneeling and touching his brow to the ground.
