Clark begins by describing life up Webster road, where his family moved when he was one. He then, starting at the bottom of the valley, talks about the houses and farms in Tyringham. Quite a bit of time is spent on the various stores in town, and how they ran, as well as other types of industry in town. Topics include: farming, distribution of homes up the hills instead of the valley, stores: Curtin’s, Hale’s, Tinker’s, working in one of the stores taking orders, making deliveries, post office, industry: sawmill, rakes, cider mill, wagon maker, slaughterhouse, tanneries, Baptist and Methodist Church, and the difference in congregations, hunting, African American family at Lost Farm.
