Source Description

Undated handwritten copy, made by John Hancock, of an original letter describing General Edward Braddock's defeat at Fort Duquesne during the French and Indian War. Published in Massachusetts Historical Society Collections, Series 2, v. 8, p. 153. Robert Orme was an officer under General Edward Braddock. He was wounded in Braddock's retreat.
