Title supplied by cataloger.
Phoebe Sarah Jordan, who was born in Washington, MA was the first (legal) woman voter in a US Presidential Election. She did so on November 2, 1930 in New Ashford, MA. Her birth certificate was prepared following her death in 1939. Her birth is recorded in the town of Washington birth records in 1864 as “Girl Jordan”, her parents apparently not yet naming her Phoebe.
