Letter from Samuel Gridley Howe, Roxbury, [Boston, Massachusetts], 1868 January 31st
This printed circular invites the recipient to attend "a meeting of the Contributors to the Cretan Fund, and of the friends of Crete" where [Samuel Gridley] Howe "will describe his disposition of the contributions, and the present condition of Crete." William Lloyd Garrison and Rev. J.O. Means will also address the meeting, and it will be presided over by Rev. George Putnam.
