Letter from Charles Walter Spooner, Plymouth, [Massachusetts], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1870 Febr[uar]y 11
C.W. Spooner writes to William Lloyd Garrison after reading the "more than kind note" Garrison wrote to his father, Bourne Spooner. Spooner says the letter "served him [his father, Bourne] better than medicine. He said there was no man he respected more highly than Mr. Garrison". Spooner then describes his father's worsening illness and asks him to excuse the short message from his father as it hurts him to talk. He tells Garrison that "his faith ... is so strong and he feels so sure of a reunion with those gone before that he is willing more to go, or stay, as God wills."
