Letter from Gerrit Smith, Peterboro, [New York], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1872 Aug[ust] 2
Gerrit Smith writes to William Lloyd Garrison that "Of all men you are the man to review Sumner's Letter to the colored gentlemen - I beg you to do it." In the postscript, Smith writes, "This is bad news from N. Carolina!"
