Source Description
Jonathan Walker writes to William Lloyd Garrison sending him "scaps" he had written to include in the Liberator. Walker says he had "just enough strength to write it" and compares himself to an "old horse stuck in a mud-hole[,] can neither go forward or back out, and don't see that standing will accomplish anything." He then describes his current stay at his son's house and family news, including mentioning his children named after abolitionists, Maria Child, Lloyd Garrison, and William Wilberforce. He also details the exploits of these sons both serving with the Union army in the American Civil War.
