Source Description
Thomas Pringle writes to William Lloyd Garrison sending him "a copy of a little work I have recently published, & in which you may possibly find some passages calculated to place in a juster point of view than has been long common, some of the characteristic features of the African race, among whom I was long resident." He tells Garrison he has also sent a copy to Lydia Maria Child and says that if printing his book in the United States will help "the good cause" then he "shall be happy to see it done." Pringle then describes his illness which has prevented him from writing more, including the "rupture of a blood vessel," and tells Garrison he "must refer you for all news to Mr. [George] Thompson."
