Letter from John A. Mirick, East Princeton, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1853 June 21
John A. Mirick writes to Samuel May sharing his hope that he "shall not be disappointed in our expectations of hearing Lucy Stone at our hall, next Sunday ..." He believes, "She will do more for the cause here than any other one can." Mirick tells May that the "people of East Princeton know but little of Anti-Slavery gospel" and so he recommends the lecture stress "first principles." Mirick states, "I really know of no place where the people need more light than here and where they seem better disposed to receive it."
