Source Description
George Thompson writes to Richard Davis Webb in regards to celebrating at Roslin and his intent to publish a "descriptive and humorous" poem after copyright is secured. He writes that his poetry will be put on hold because of the events to come such as the arrival of the Calcutta Baboo, Dwarkanath Tajore. He writes that he must "read a heap of papers which he has compiled to me connected with measures of justice & amelioration in which he is concerned on behalf of his countrymen." He discusses Indian politics, in particular concerns with a letter written by the Raja. He regrets that he can't come to him yet due to the Deacon visiting and plans to travel in Scotland with the Baboo. He writes of his intent to hold a meeting in Glasgow before he leaves Scotland. He will try to send Webb something for the autograph book.
