Letter from Frederick Douglass, Belfast [Ireland], to Richard Davis Webb, 20th, Dec-1845

Frederick Douglass describes in detail his visit to Birmingham, where he attended “the Anniversary [meeting] of the B[i]rmingham temperance society." He met many people and was invited to speak, although the committee originally did not seem to have intended to let him give a speech.
