Letter written in pencil.
William Lloyd Garrison mentions a letter by Bishop Haven, which was published in the Boston Traveler, concerning "the rebel feeling ever toward Independence Day" and describing the attitude of the South towards equal rights for colored and white people. He condemns the attempts to disenfranchise the loyal blacks and whites of the South. He is glad to hear that William Lloyd Garrison Jr. and family are enjoying Osterville. William Lloyd Garrison gives his own travel plans.
