M. J. Parkman was told that Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman was kind enough to send to Paris for a French doll for her to dress for the anti-slavery fair. Parkman is willing to pay for the doll if it can be brought in without paying duty on it. She gives her preference for the color of the doll's hair and her wish for the doll's shoes, socks, winter cap, etc.
