Letter from J. U. Parsons, Berkley, to Amos Augustus Phelps, Feb. 1. 1839
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, J. U. Parsons suggests that it is time to form a new antislavery society, separate from that of Garrison and similar to the “Union Evangelical Anti. Sl. Soc. of New York City.” He says Garrison may do more harm than good for the cause.
