Rebecca Whitelegge explains that sending the box has been delayed in order to include a few copies of the "Art Treasures" just published. The two panels are for P. Pillsbury. Whitelegge explains some of the difficulties encountered in collecting the contents of the box. The war in India and the commercial panic have made it hard to rouse anti-slavery sentiments in Manchester. Whitelegge calls Maria Weston Chapman's attention to the plans of Mrs. Woolley, who is going to establish a school for young ladies in Paris.
