        "William Lloyd Garrison says about his lecture tour: \"At Warren there was a fair audience to hear me, but it would have been doubled but for the execrably muddy state of the streets.\" Judge Sutliffe was very kind him. Garrison writes: \"At Akron I had a large gathering, and my lecture was evidently well received.\" Garrison sent $300 to William Lloyd Garrison Jr. to be used \"in getting our darling Fanny properly provided for her coming wedding day.\" He has met several old abolitionists, in particular Thomas Jones. He describes the city of Cleveland. Garrison met George Thompson unexpectedly in the hotel parlor. Thompson had traveled from Pittsburgh, where he had been lecturing."
