Johnson thinks that, if the funds are available, the "National Anti-Slavery Standard" should be continued until the ratification of the thirteenth amendment. He believes that the annual meeting of the American Anti-Slavery Society would be more harmonious if the issue of continuance of the society were settled beforehand. He says he has talked the matter over with Aaron Macy Powell at some length.
