Source Description
Mrs. Taylor thanks May for some letters and papers and says that she has not had much faith in Andrew Johnson. She tells May that she thinks the future is uncertain for African Americans and discusses the English workers' demand for the suffrage. She reports that an agitation for women's rights will follow granting of the suffrage. Mrs. Taylors says that she thinks the English should help to further the education of African Americans. She tells May that she is sending gifts of clothing to the National Freedmen's Relief Association.
