        "Anne Warren Weston describes a colonization meeting held by R.R. Gurley in the Temple. Functioning with Gurley was Zion Harris, a colored man whose \"inferior unhappy sort of appearance\" Anne contrasts with \"the bold free bearing of our folks such as Douglas[s], Lane, etc.\" Stephen S. Foster and Thomas Parnell Beach heckled the speaker, causing an uproar. At the second meeting, attended by Caroline and Lucia Weston, Gurley alluded to Garrison as one who had \"led & misled the mind of England.\" Anne gives family news. Ann [Greene Chapman] is going to Miss Lothrop's school. Henry G. Chapman's condition varies. Maria W. Chapman has sent for the book, Consumption Curable, by an English physician, Dr. Francis Ramage, who uses a tube to inflate the lungs. \"Ellis & Louisa [Loring] have gone on [to New York] to arrange matters with Mrs. C. [Mrs. Lydia Maria Child] if possible.\" Anne reports the misfortunes of acquaintances, including a case of insanity \"laid at the door of Transcendentalism.'",
        "In this letter, the reference to the English doctor is to Dr. Francis Hopkins Ramage, 1793-1867, whose \"Consumption Curable,\" first published in 1834, went into its 3rd edition in 1842."
