Source Description
An unsigned and undated manuscript version of the Itinerarium Beatae Virginis Mariae apparently copied directly from an edition of the text printed ca. 1487 in Ulm by Johann Reger (ISTC ii00218700). Though the unidentified scribe of the present manuscript employs frequent abbreviation of words throughout, it otherwise follows the orthography and layout of the Reger edition closely. However, while the Reger edition is illustrated with a cycle of woodcuts showing various scenes from the life of Christ and of the Virgin, no images are included within the present manuscript. Instead, brief captions stand in for those images present between parts 1 and 2 and between parts 4 and 5 of the Reger edition. Consult content notes 3 and 7 in this record for a detailed description.
