Source Description

A compilation of various texts, including sermons, masses, and extracts from works such as Albertus Magnus' De corpore domini, Baltherus' Vita of Fridolin of Säckingen, and an unidentified legend of Charlemagne. The primary text (fol. 17r-48r) is Hugh of Fouilloy's Duodecim abusionibus claustri. Copied in a single hand on uniform paper stock, the present manuscript is bound with the 1487 Mathias Huss edition of the Legenda aurea (ISTC ij00118000; Q.403.100 no.1 FOLIO).

Origin: Copied in Germany ca. 1490 to 1491. Localization based on inscriptions on the title page to the printed portion of the volume, which are written in both German and Latin. Date based on colophons to two of the manuscript texts. The Charlemagne legend has a dated colophon on 12v ("Anno domini M.cccc.lxxxx, in die sancte Elizabeth ...") and Duodecim abusionibus claustri has a dated colophon on 48r ("... anno 1491 tem[por]e hyemali ...")
