inscribed, lower left, in graphite: illegible upper line of text; lower line of text, probably artist's signature and date, has been cropped. inscribed, verso, center, in graphite: Vue du chateau d'arque / Vue en dieppe / SS on mat, two small pieces of attached paper: one below drawing, in brown ink: le Baron Taylor. 1819; the other, below first, in graphite: Chateau d'arques. These pieces of paper do not match that of the drawing support, and were probably salvaged from an earlier mount.
