Source Description

In this picture, which is apparently a pendant to "The Quarrel" (Walters 37.2372) despite the difference in dates, amends have been made and the man is about to drink a toast with his wife, who gazes benignly at him. The reconciliation is observed by the servant girl and the dog. The setting appears to be the same room as in "The Quarrel" although it is seen here from the opposite direction.
