Source Description
The unknown man wears clothing of simple design, identifiable as Florentine and from the second half of the 16th century. The quick, sketchy rendering of the hair, and the treatment of his eyes and eyebrows are effective, individualized, and reflect a confident hand; however it has not been possible to identify the artist.
