Source Description

This painting depicts the same scene as Vessantara Gives Away the Chariot (35.266) but with a different convention. Instead of a single scene, two different parts of the story are included within the small frame. First, the brahmins ask for the horses and the chariot. Then, at the top of the painting, they are seen taking the chariot and horses away.
