Fans of the Twelve Months
In the Rimpa school of Japanese painting, decoratively arranged fans were a common subject. Hoshuku added individual twists to a formula perfected by Hoitsu (1761-1828), an artist four generations behind him in a lineage of master and pupil.One of a pair with 35.150.
