Tsuba with Three Samurai Attacking a Courtier

1696-1769 (mid Edo) 2 13/16 in. (7.2 cm) Citation Source image

On the right of this tsuba, a group of three samurai attack a courtier. The body of the rightmost samurai extends over the edge of the tsuba and is completed on the back. This scene is probably a reference to an episode from a story.
