Kozuka with a Horse and a Monkey

n.d. L: 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm) Citation Source image

In the center is a horse tied to a post. A monkey is holding the rope on the right. Monkeys are often shown with horses as they were believed to be able to keep horses calm. Many stables were decorated with monkeys. This is only the decorative panel of the kozuka.
