Source Description
Hotei is one of the seven gods of good fortune ("shichifukujin"). He is often depicted as a rotund Buddhist monk with a bag of treasures. When depicted without the other gods, he is frequently depicted with small children. Here, the image of Hotei is incised on the kozuka body and wraps around to the reverse. The small child is at Hotei's left. This is part of a mounted set.
