Citation

This cameo is a pastiche composed of two different cameo fragments, one of a head, possibly of the god Dionysos, and one of a bust of a Madonna, an Italian work of the 18th century. Mary is depicted breastfeeding the baby Jesus in a type called a Madonna del latte.
