Bust-length portrait of man with black hair, wearing a black coat with a high white collar.This piece has been attributed to Anna Claypoole Peale, the daughter of the miniaturist James Peale. She exhibited her work at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where she was elected an academician in 1824.
