Source Description
A gold lacquer four compartment inro in the shape of a woven hanging pouch shaped flower container or basket. Both sides are in the form of basketwork with a medallion cut out in the center from which spring forth peonies, iris, and wistaria (fuji). The design on one side in togidashi in gold and silver lacquer for iris. The reverse in hiramakie in gold with inlaid raden for peonies and violet colored glass(?). The background of black roiro which but for the central panels is covered with togidashi in the design of woven basketwork. On top mura-nashiji on black roiro. Interior with nashiji and fundame. The cord channels are internal.A wood carved netsuke of a cluster of seven No masks.
