These images from Walters manuscript w.106 depict scenes from the story of Joshua. Top: When the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what the Israelites had done to Ai, they decided to make peace with them. They pretended to be from far away and dressed up in worn-out clothes, carried old provisions, and told the Israelites that they were their servants. And Joshua made peace with them. Bottom: The kings of the Amorites made war against Gibeon. The Gibeonites beseeched Joshua to help them.
