Document source description

This étui¸ or needle case, is a good example of the taste for small, multicolored hardstone objects in the time of Frederick the Great. It was probably made by Daniel Baudesson, court jeweler, who worked in Berlin. Baudesson, a native of Metz, became Berlin's most famous goldsmith.
