Source Description

At the right of the composition, a gentleman in Chinese style dress is beginning to cross a bridge. On the other side of the bridge is a pavillion. This design invokes Chinese landscapes and the idea of a scholar retreating to a hut. The fuchi is part of a set with Walters 51.910.
