Tsuka with Arrowroot and Butterfly

1848-1918 (late Edo-Meiji) L: 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm) Citation Source image

The kashira is decorated with a butterfly hovering over an arrowroot flower. The tsuka is otherwise undecorated. Originally, additional decoration was probably provided by embellished mekuki pins holding the blade to the tsuka. This is part of a mounted set.
