Source Description

A boy is depicted seated on an ox beneath a pine tree. The shore can be seen behind him. This many be a reference to the Buddhist journey towards enlightenment. A series of ten images of a boy and an ox were used to illustrate the process of attaining enlightenment. This is part of a set with Walters 51.982.
