Thumb Ring

14th century (Medieval)

2.7 cm 0.5 cm

The ring's large size and lack of central ornamentation suggest that it was worn on the thumb. Each of the eight raised facets bears a letter of the inscription, IHESUS N (Jesus of Nazareth).
