Inuyama is one of the eight heroes of the popular novel \"Hakkenden,\" which was published in installments from 1814 to 1841. Inuyama is a fire-magic adept and is usually depicted in scenes with flames or smoke. In this print, the artist has animated the hem of Inuyama's red and orange robe, suggesting flames.",
