Source Description

This vase features decoration that imitates 18th-century works made by the Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory. However, it's large size, elaborate gilded metal mounts, and other features point to it being made by an unknown manufacturer, likely French or English, in the late 19th century when 18th-century Sèvres porcelains were being sought by many wealthy collectors in both Europe and the Americas. The military scene on the front of the vase is signed “A Maglin”.
