Jar with Impressed Textile Pattern
This storage jar is decorated with an all-over impressed geometric pattern. The pressed or punched decoration (yingtao) shows the use of textiles to decorate vessels that emerged in this period. The jar is burnished (polished by rubbing) to a uniform terracotta color.
