Document source description
This bronze "enkolpion" (pectoral cross) depicts the standing Virgin and Child flanked by busts of the apostles Peter and John. An accompanying inscription identifies the Virgin as the Panagia ("All-Holy One"). The other side has in its center a medallion with a bust of Saint George. Since the cross can be opened, it may have been used to hold relics.
