Kozuka with Phoenix
A gold "hô-ô" bird, often called a phoenix in the West, is shown flying near a blossoming paulownia tree. "Hô-ô" are associated with wise rulers and considered an auspicious symbol. Paulownia is directly associated with the emperor. This is part of a mounted set.
